Reflecting on Scriptures & Sacred Texts - 1st Wednesday of month, with Bob Wigle   
Meditation - 2nd & 4th Wednesdays, with Lorraine Purdon
Soul Music - 3rd Wednesday of each month, with Danny Bronson
Chaos, Creation and Our Cosmic Community - 4th Wednesday, with Meredith Hill, Keith Adams, Cheryl Lyon and Al Daynes. 
Please Note:  Meditation will continue during the months of July and August; Reflecting on Scriptures,Soul Music and Chaos, Creation and Our Cosmic Community will re-start in September of 2010.

To Be Or Not To Be - We will hear from all speakers during the morning session.  After lunch Dr. Goldman will lead an open one hour discussion with our panel of local guest speakers.  After a short break, the audience will then participate in an open question and answer session involving all of our guests.
Total cost for the full day event is $35.00.  All seats are reserved.

An Awareness Trip to JamaicaWhat?  A 10-day small-group trip.  Where?  Kingston, Jamaica, The Blue Mountains, and the North Coast.  Nine nights at the Hostel/Convent of Stella Maris and one night at Riveredge Eco-Lodge in the mountains.  When?  February 16-26, 2011.  For Whom?  10 - 16 adults, with an interest in spiritual as well as social, economic, cultural, and political issues.  Joint Leadership - Rev. Karen Ptolemy-Stam, Minister, George Street United Church and Rosemary Ganley, Co-founder of Jamaican Self-Help and leader of 23 previous trips since 1984.   How Much?  $2400 per person covers airfare, accommodations, ground transportation, activities, visits, workshops, and meals. Some of the Activities:  attend a Jamaican culture workshop; volunteer at community agencies; visit the University of the West Indies; visit the Canadian High Commission; attend a pan-band rehearsal; visit local markets and beaches; have daily time for reflection and quiet; travel on a tourist day to Ocho Rios and Dunn's River Falls; visit and all-age school to see the literacy project there; attend a church service and meet members of the congregation; visit a women's media watch project; drive into the Blue Mountains, hike down to Gordon Town; attend "Jamaicans for Justice" workshop.  Next Steps: Please indicate your interest to one of the leaders as soon as you can.  A Participant Information Form and a non-refundable deposit of $100 are due by September 30, 2010.  These are to be submitted to the offices of either George Street United or Jamaican Self-Help.  Subsequent payment is in two installments.  Contacts:  Rosemary Ganley, 209 Aberdeen Ave., Peterborough, ON., K9H 4W7, (705) 748-9756, email:  rosemaryganley@sympatico.ca; www.jshcanada.org.
