The George Street United auditorium echoed with laughter and chatter:
people having fun;
dancing freely; singing to karaoke; decorating
Christmas cookies. We have welcomed Best Buddies, Trent University
Chapter many times to come and enjoy this place. Best Buddies Canada, an
international group is about creating friendships between people with
intellectual disabilities and students. Best Buddies helps break down
barriers to inclusion and provides opportunities for shared experiences,
laughter and support. In the spring of this year, they hosted a Gala –
everyone dressed up. This was the first formal affair that many of the
people supported by Community Living Peterborough have ever attended.
The ladies looked beautiful and the men quite handsome. The sparkling
smiles of everyone's faces said it all.
