World-renowned Christian scholar, author and lecturer, Marcus Borg
participated in a weekend of lectures and discussion last March. Borg’s
most recent book, co-authored with John Dominic Crossan, was "The Last
Week – a day-by-day account of Jesus Final week in Jerusalem" was based
on Mark’s Gospel. This book was the subject of the six-week Lenten Study
led by Karen Ptolemy-Stam in 2007. Borg’s lectures were a fitting ending
for the Lenten Studies as he outlined for the audience "A Tale of Two
Christianities". His section lecture was an inspiring and hopeful
treatise on "Transformation – Seeing the Christian Life Again." Dr. Borg
also addressed the George Street United congregation on the following
Sunday morning, with the theme of "Open Hearts and Thin Places."
